Drunk Girls On…Food: Fried Rice 炒飯

Lamb fried rice was one of those incredible things we discovered and were hooked immediately. Obviously, we’ve had fried rice before, but nothing like the Taiwanese grease covered massive boxes that was never stingy on the meat, egg or vegetables. Our favourite fried rice place was near exit M8 of Taipei Main Station. It’s a struggle to give any more details other than that, because, like most genuinely great finds in Taipei, there isn’t any online presence, not even a location on Google Maps, and we hope it stays that way.

Rice box prices ranged from 60ntd to 90ntd, depending on your order. Don’t order the pineapple vegetable fried rice unless you want the surprise of pork floss (this goes for all fried rice places), we stuck to the lamb because it’s not often you find such great lamb in Taipei.

It’s rare for us to remember to get a photo before we start eating.

We’ve managed to take a screenshot of the Google Street View of the restaurant (it’s the yellow/red one on the right) and here’s a link to the location on Google Maps. We recommend taking a Chinese speaker with you as there aren’t any English menus and the employees don’t know any English.

The yellow/red place on the right!

For future reference, this is the Chinese symbol for lamb:

羊肉

And we’re certain it’s the second or third item along the menu at 70ntd, good luck!
